hi all. sorry for not updating. hmmm i guess everyone's been busy-ing preparing for thier exams. of coz, including me. we've also completed 40days of love together as well !!!!!! we've learnt wat Love means. it is kind, it forgives, and love matters most. without god, i doubt love exists. but coz God loves us so much, so we should love other ppl as well. love without expecting anything in return.

abit late but woot!! got 55/60 for the last calc test. not bad for someone who didnt even get a 50% for any calc test in the last semester. congrats to alvin as well for passing his econs and discrete tests

hi all ! i hvaen't been updating o2's blog for like so long !!!! and guess wat ???? i was asked to share tithes and offering few days ago. well... didn't do dat good. but praise the lord that he gave me this chance! and i shared about this email i read few yrs ago. it was really really hard to find but i didn't give up. and this is the story, hope u enjoy it !!! =]

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN

This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen and is so true:

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, 'This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.'

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, 'This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them. 'I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. 'This is the Acknowledgment Section,' my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed 'How is it that there is no work going on here?' I asked.

'So sad,' the angel sighed. 'After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments. '

'How does one acknowledge God's blessings?' I asked.

'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, Lord.'

'What blessings should they acknowledge? ' I asked.

'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.'

'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity. '

'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.'

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you ! are ahead of 700 million people in the world.'

'If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.'

'If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare.'

We wish u all the best in the upcoming years and pray that God will use you in ways beyond our imagination. We pray success upon your life and thank you for the many things that you have taught us. I can hardly imagine what we may have been able to teach you. maybe not to be annoying n tell people if we don't need transport.

do not stress about your exams. if u have put in the time n the effort, u will do well. after the time n the time n effort, juz trust the Lord tt he will provide u ur super high mark. even if u din do well at the start of the yr, the prophet did say today, even if u din start well at the beginning of the yr in ur exams, god will change ur condition n u will end the year with FLYING colours. tt's rite. not crawling, not walking, but flying for our god is a god of overwhelming blessings and he will take care of your needs. " seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these will be added unto u"

useful tip that ben raja once said, as god always asks for your first fruits. therefore give it to him. when u start ur exam, give him your first few minutes. pray n give that time to god n ask him to bless u

in jesus name, i pray for all that are sitting exams. i pray that all of you might get the flying colours prophesied and for those with super ugly writing, i pray that the holy spirit might grant the markers understanding, that they may be able to read all ur writings.

AMEN! now go claim tt blessing n super high mark tt is waiting 4 u! when ur in the depths studying 4 ur exam, feeling like the book juz has something against u or when u start shouting at the book, or even if u juz feel plain stupid, pray n find peace in Him. have a blessed exam period n god bless

wad do u c? a half full glass? a half empty glass? it is true that this opinion may change depending on the seasons of life that you are going thru but i challenge u to think outside of the box. no matter wad, i say think of this glass as half full. 4 the unusally random/happy/ crazy pple like me, there r many ways to c this. ur attitude to life gives u these different lenses

you can c it as a cup which will quench ur thirst or a cup which u can fill up. lastly, u can b super crazy n say that the cup is actually full but the cup's juz too big 4 the amount of water. no matter wad, SMILE n b happy. personally 4 me, i see it as a cup that is half full but im gonna fill it. coz im juz tt awesome.. either tt or it was a full cup... n i was being nice n generous n i gave it to someone else 4 a sip... tt someone tricked me n took a big gulp instead...

always say the glass is full coz the bit wif air is FILLED BY THE LIVING WATER OF GOD!! WOO HOO!! n u tot this din have anything christiany in it huh! to u i say, happy belated april fools! :)

hey all. couple of days ago, our church has a event called food fest !!! its a place where u can enjoy different kind of food. like western food?? and chinese cooking !!! and of coz, we hav quite a few chefs, and they're professional !!! this kinda event of coz won't miss out us rite, Oxygen youth !!! of coz we'll participate. c'mon, we're really socialize >.< hahaha. sam is the cook, who cooks most of the dishes and he kinda create the recipes !!! and no doubt, it was really delicious !!! i couldn't get a lot of pics, but still got a few lah. hahaha

we hav, bo bo cha-cha, milo peng, ice cream potong, chin chao and something esle !!! it was really fun !!!

the purpose of this event is for people to enjoy and have fun not for earning profit, dats why God bless everyone dat they hav thier cost covered !!!! goo jesus !!!!

hi all, sorry for not updating for so long !!!!! anywayz, i went back to m'sia for about 2 months, joe and i attended Eve and Ben's wedding. it was awesome ! just roughly wat has happened to me

-went to JB to stay about 1 week,
-then went to sing to meet up with joe, so we get to go to KL together
-the bus was SOOO awesome !!!! although it took 5 hrs but i reckon i should've stayed longer there... coz its really comfy !!!
-then, met up with Roy, derreee, chui-lin,canile,caryn, siew bee, benr,rika and chin seng and so on ! many ppl !!!!
-then, crash to derree and roy's dorm? it was so high class man... the toilet was just AWESOME !!! wish i can hav dat kind of toilet too. haha
-after dat, we depart to bukit bintang, we then check in and leave our bags and went straight to SHOPPING ! we shoot 8 hrs. so we shopped for 8 hrs, non stop for the 1st day
-2cd day, also non stop !!!! went to massage, food street, we ate A LOT !!!!
3rd day, we hav to go already... joe caught his own taxi, i was still wandering around with the taxi driver to see where the cow is the bus stop...

then i stayed in kampung for abour 1 month !!!! man, wat a long time...

now, im yr 12, and i've been really sick of it ! coz teachers gave us SOOOO many hws. and im really stress... but last week, i thought, thank god, i still hav youth on friday and church on sunday ! but ! youth was cancled last week, i was really dissapointed... but NVM !!!! THIS FRIDAY again ! we will hav youth again !!!!

around with these ppl, i feel recharged all the headaches are gone, no need to worried about school works, it must be God, who did it for me, im just like a battery, monday to friday, has to work, and friday to sunday is the days where i get recharged...
i really thank you god...

and i will post pics of our trip soon, coz my hard disk is with someone atm... so yea. GOD BLESS !!!!

HIHI!! Its ling,decided to blog something since I finally have internet! Hehe, VALENTINES IS COMING UP!! 6 more days!!(if i haven't counted wrong)lol.

Look, Valentines isn't all about being with the one you like or trying to impress someone. It's also about spending time with your friends and family, being with people that need your company most..

The point of having valentines to us,christians,is to show people the love that our GOD has blessed us with and to share our lives with one another, to bless others by granting them the most precious memories that someone could possibly have..

So..on valentines, show the person that loves us most that we love him back and thank him for the life he was so willing to give us,no other than the LORD our GOD..

Okay,now... I want to share a sweet story with you,enjoy!!

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he so average, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party, he finally found courage to invite her to have coffee with him. She was surprised, but out of politeness, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, waiting for coffee She kept on thinking, "Please, let it get over soon...let me go home...."It arrived and suddenly, he asked the waiter. "Would you please get me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee!" Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously, "Why this habit?" He took a couple of sips and replied, "When I was a little boy, I lived near the sea, I liked playing in the sea! I can still remember the taste of the sea.. This salty coffee...every timeI drink it, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown... I miss my hometown so much... I miss my parents who are still out there." While saying this, tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched. A man who can tell out his homesickness, must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home. Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really great date, also a beautiful beginning of their story. They continued to date. She found that actually, he was a man who met all her expectations: he was tolerant, kind hearted, warm, caring. He was such a good man and hadn't been for the salt in the coffee, she'd never have really known him!The rest of the story was just like any other beautiful love story: the princess married to the prince, and they lived a very happy married life. And yes! every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, just the way he liked it! After 40 years of marital bliss, he died after a short illness.One day, she found a letter he had left for her: "My dearest, Please forgive me, but I lied to you.. Only once.. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous, I asked for salt instead of sugar! I was too embarrassesd to admit it, so I just went ahead.I never thought that could bring about such a frank and intimate conversation between the two of us!Later, I tried to tell you the truth so many times but was afraid you'd think I was a liar and never again believe me ... it's been almost 3 yrs since youth started. we started in 2006 n it's almost 2009. oh how far we've come indeed. for some, we might be agonising " oh no! i've grown older". for others it might be a case of " oh yay! i gotten more mature". wadeva the point of view, no matter how u look at it, we've all grown in these 3 yrs.

4 myself, i've changed. my bro n sis had to drag me to church when i first came. i would even purposely take my time so they would be late in the hopes tt they gave up n left me home to sleep. now it's totally different. i'm glad to be in church. it's where i juz feel so comfortable. i feel i've become friendlier as the me 3 yrs ago wouldnt really dare to talk to anyone new.

wiki defines growth as "an increase in size, number, value, or strength; the act of growing, getting bigger or higher". i believe we fit these criteria totally.

as a grp, we've grown so much. frm having cell in someone's house, we now have a larger space. i believe though someday we'll have a place of our own. a space where we can stick our own stuff up on the walls. instead of juz normal cell all the time, we've progressed to have things like outings n discipleship. though the number changes, our number has changed many times n we still grew. we have done a few performances in church. spiritually, we've grown as well due to the help of the youth leaders. appreciations shall be done in a different post. together as a youth, we've grown bolder as well. being in youth, we've done things we nvr tot we would ever do. i certainly din expect to have performed in front of so many people or even sit down to learn how to fold a paper star. all these memories i'm sure we'll all treasure. we've grown in strength of our own n also thru adversity, learnt to rely on god's strength. last but not least value. these past years, i believe this is wad the leaders have constantly done us youth. they've constantly added value to us, so tt we may go out as shining beacons of light to then add value to the people surrounding us and our lives. juz as the leaders have added value to us, i believe that in our own little way, we've added value to them as well. i think we can agree we've at least taught them patience n how to hold their temper better. haha. inside they might be boiling but outside, they still seem so calm n i admire that.

we might not be as big as the fcc youth group but tt's the way i like it. being small n close knit, being able to know everyone well is nice. but i believe we can grow in numbers. i believe we still have a long way to grow. we've grown bigger and higher the past few years. let's continue to support each other n forever growing by the grace of god.

personally, how far have you come? as a youth, how far have we come? i'd say pretty far.

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, ‘What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That’s a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?’ The young boy was apologetic. ‘Please, mister…please, I’m sorry but I didn’t know what else to do,’ He pleaded. ‘I threw the brick because no one else would stop…’ With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. ‘It’s my brother, ‘he said ‘He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him up.’Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, ‘Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He’s hurt and he’s too heavy for me. Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. ‘Thank you and may God bless you,’ the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. we went outing today among oxygen youth ourselves. we were meant to meet at Utop**, but alvin was late for one hr !!!! there was Sam, Ling Ling, Jordan and Alvin. we then headed straight for lunch. we saw Marcus Cheong and Benedix our leader. he was with "someone". after lunch we then went to a few shops and stuff. at last we went to Time Z***. we took azn photos together well its kind of like an unspoken rule for all the ppl dat goes to Time Z***. hehehe and here are the photos !!!!

as i've didn't want to mention the whole name for those particular shops was bcoz i cannot make this blog as an advertising blog and they're PTY LTD i suppose =]

i hope this pic will bring a lot of ppl's memories back. this photo was taken when youth was created. the 1st time of youth and they took a pic. this photo was definitely taken with a lot of big dreams, big hopes, and also with a lot of God's LOVE. as the post underneath. u all shall know dat our youth is great and stuff but whenever we pray for growth, we only pray but i dun really see anyone has ever put in any effort maybe u guys did but.... u know... so i really do hope dat u guys will start taking actions about it and go talk to the families so they mite know any teens and invite them to youth dun always PLAY and hang around with ur own ppl (especially those three ppl hope u know who i am talkin about) i was very very very disappointed when i heard this. Ps Josh MOYO has brought a few teens to attend SFAS. Boon Wai ask the youth group to go and hav a talk with them and also acompany them but i found out some ppl actually went away and only one or two youths left. can u imagine if u were the ppl around ??? i wonder wat kind of thoughts would boon wai hav. anywayz. let's set it aside i will discuss about it at other time. the pic at the top. start from left. was thinking of whether to post this or not n finally decided to

went to city harvest church today for their sunday service.. had to travel 45 min to get there but its alrite.. twas worth it

i've nvr really been to any big churches so this was my first time going to one.. twas relatively big i guess but not as big as hillsongs definately.. anyways.. twas very nice to be able to juz worship wif so many other pple.. some CEO of KPMG was there too

when i walked in there was juz so many people worshipping god.. people of different ages,backgrounds and races. it muz be wad heaven will be like.. it was juz so many people packing out the EXPO hall

this juz brought up a thought in me.. i believe god is gonna expand our youth.. he's gonna bring more people in but we as the youth muz have the initiative to go talk to other teens in church n invite them too.. this is one of the things we usually pray 4 in prayer but somehow i think we all lost the vision already n juz merely pray wifout envisioning a big youth, a youth where transport has become a problem n we dont have enough cars. i think as a youth, we have stagnated and we should continue to grow. we're kinda being headless chickens here n juz basically having fun( not tt it's not gd) but we're called to be the head n not the tail therefore arise and go out n draw the masses in...

after the recent success of our sfas performance, i believe a few thank yous r in order.. names r not in order of importance.. juz whoever came to mind n the amount of txt written is not proportional to the thank u u get. we r all winners in christ and everyone put in effort so everyone gets the same amount of thank u.. so jealousy here yeah?

firstly, a huge thank you to the leaders who tirelessly and wonderfully give up their weekends juz to send us to practice. also thank u to dj raja who was sporting enough to join us in this performance

secondly, to ling ling who gave so much time to this performance as well. thank u 4 spraying the banner(sry i lost it) and choreographing the entire thing as well in addition to ur school work. i'm sure we all appreciate ur efforts. gd choreography btw.. even though u might nvr read this

thirdly, to joel chan who opened up his home to us juz so we can practice. thanks 4 ur hospitality and ur eagerness to organise everything. it will stand u in good stead 4 the rest of ur life.

to sam who provided the entertainment in the stressful times during practice. ur constant swearing juz helps us see god's love in all of us. if he can love u despite who u r then im sure he loves us all... haha.. jkjk

to alvin who helped teach taha n yang and kept trying to push us(mainly ling2) to come up wif a "wow" factor 4 the dance.

to hannah who put in an effort to learn all the moves to perform. see!! there's a dancer in all of us.

to jason who came 4 all the practices even though he still had piano lessons b4 n after practice.. n to try to do tt cool arm thing sam taught u. no one else couldve pulled it off as well as u did.
to taha who gave his time and energy on fridays to practice wif us. thank you 4 regularly turning up 4 practice. ask 4 help when u need it yeah? doesnt say anything more than "i need help, would u teach me". goes to show u have a right attitude towards things(which is the learning attitude)

sorry if i ticked off anyone during the course of the prep 4 this.. i meant well

now tt its all done, im glad i had fun.. hope u did too.. it's wad this was meant to be all about anyways. to me, it was a chance to fellowship, have fun n to glorify god with our talents.. not to find faults in others coz we all have faults

-also a thank you for Ling Ling. she choreograph the whole dance for us. she spent a lot of time and effort into it. the dance was simple easy, but COOL thank you for that.

-Sam Chee. He gave a SUPER MASSIVE OF "WOW" EFFECT when 1st session. really cool and awesome !!!! thank you ~

-Joel Tan. his sis told me dat he has never ever danced b4, and his sis Lynn, was very shocked dat he could move like dat. which was really impressive !!!!

hey guys, sorry for not updating our OXYGEN YOUTH's blog, im just going to list out wat has happened to our youth recently.

- oxygen youth has just been to dark zone in northbridge for outing !!!
-oxygen youth had a cooking nite for activity night, and alvin's group won by 0.3% wahahaha, alvin is very proud of his group. ALvin's group made choc chip cookies and Joe tan's group made macoroni and cheese !!!!! wahaha both also very delicious
-oxygen youth has been very good recently, very innocent !!!! bwahahaha
- we also hav been to rock climbing ~!!!! its really cool, and i also posted some videos on youtube, go and type in "rock climbing" if u hav time. thx
-last time we also went to help out with washing car but i forgot the reasons why we were doing. paiseh oh ~
-many ppl don't come to youth any more which is tzen, andrea and ivan tan !!!!
-rmb the ball? most of our youth went there and some ppl hav been drinking wines and found out by someone, i got it from chin seng, woopsy ~haha
-some of the youths hav been worshiping as well

40hr famine

hey guys... i'm sharing on the 40hr famine experience wif u todae... i spent my last three fasting on food... well, it was real hard!!! we started fasting on fridae nite, at youth at 8pm.. as a group of youths we spent the weekend fasting and getting sponsers for the hungry and poor ppl of east timor.. they have been struck with diseases and disasters, which made their situation worse, wif no food and proper hospitals to provide basic medical needs.. they are so poor tat they live in houses built of mud and at night, the cold night chill disrupts their sleeps and health.. In rainy seasons, crops are swept away by the torrential rain and the roads are dangerous ran over by unstoppable strong landslides.. with no proper food and clothes, these ppl have to get by each day hoping tat the next day would be better..

At church, we've seen the clip on how these ppl had to struggle wif the setbacks of their everydae life.. now i've done the 40hr famine, i could truly understand the clinging feeling of the unbearable hunger.. for 40hrs the hungry feeling clings onto ur stomach, and physically hinders our everyday activities as well.. For me its just 40hrs, but for them, its for life!!

$5 for a child to be fed for a month!! how cheap is tat??
for every meal u eat, u could potentially used tat money to save a person's life for a month.. in a day u spend roughly 20bucks on food.. for 2 days, u spend $40 on food.. through the almost 2 days of fasting, the money u've saved, could be used to save a child's life for 8 months!!! thats a pretty gd bargain!!! sacrificing 2days of food for 8 months of food for them... God is not a calculative person, he believes tat through us, others would be blessed... as others are blessed, more others would be blessed...

------------------------today's sermon at church's sermon was about WHERE TO INVEST??
++ Pastor Patrick said, that money is neutral/ amoral/ tool...
++ As Christians, our aim is to INVEST money for the purposes of the KINGDOM..

the money we have now are all god's blessings on us.. we should be grateful and glad he placed us here, in perth, in our nice cosy homes.. It could be us having to suffer and bear the tomentous weather of nature and hunger... it could be us sleeping on the streets of perth looking at ppl like us shopping in the cities with our money, mostly wifout a thought... FOR WE ARE BLESSED, WE SHOULD BLESS OTHERS...
there is no reason why the people in east timor should be lacked of blessings, that we are having now.. they shouldn't deserve the hardships..

why do we say grace everytime before we eat? its to thank God for placing these meals before us everyday.. most ppl in East Timor hardly get enough food for each day, and most of them don't even noe of our true lord and saviour.. We have not done anything to deserve such blessings, the ppl in East Timor deserve these blessings as well..

so my conclusion for todae, is that whenever u say grace for the food, pray in our hearts that the hungry ppl all over the world is able to feel contented.. i strongly encourage as well, to do the 40hr famine next year, so u can get sponsers to help these ppl out and to deeply understand true hunger, which many of us had not felt..

hey, wats up guys!!! its me again, ivan, blogging on the youth blog.. well, youth's been pretty gd and fun as usual, and the best thing of all is tat we're growing.. the amt of youth attending, is pretty much growing well.. we've so many new ppl, like ling ling's friends, Derek, Kevin, Chris and all!!! NICE MEETING U GUYS!!! our youth is getting more interesting, we've ppl frm malaysia, singapore, aussie, china, japan, mauritius, we're an international youth group now!! how cool is tat!!

its nice to see how talented our youth group is.. we've like heaps of musical inclined ppl!! ppl who can sing well, play the guitar, violin, piano, drums, even the cello!! man, we rock!! well, if u're unaware of this, we're performing for SEARCH FOR A STAR!!! So u're all are performing, everyone!!! no exceptions!!! well, u can get ur friends to cheer u on, as u all are performing... they'll see how cool u are, and how cool the youth group.. AND THEY WOULD WANNA BE LIKE US!!! SEARCH FOR A STAR is a gd way to get ur friends to have sneak preview on how cool and blessed we Christians are... if u want tickets, get them frm Chin Seng...

Beside frm this major event, we have another yummy major event.. we have the MAMAK NITE!!! its like a major ASIAN FOOD CONFERENCE organised by Chin Seng... we've food and fun all stocked up and ready for you.. we've satay, which is ''meat on a stick'', and teh terik, prata and all!!! the entry fee is $10, and its on tis coming saturdae, which is the 2nd sept... If u want tickets get them frm chui lin, get money ready by this fridae's youth...

i'm going for MAMAK NITE and SEARCH FOR A STAR... so its gonna hell fun and awesome... all the cool ppl are going, so don't miss out!!!

Yeah, as u guys hav noticed I love stories...hahaha...okay enjoy then! =D

When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls . He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more! if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.
The sand is everything else---the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,

"There is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the s mall stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. "

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

"One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

hey everyone.. ivan here again.. its been a long time since i updated already!! hehe, well, last week, youth group was held at Ben Raja's house... well, there were quite a lot of ppl, so it was kinda fun.. well, stacie brought her cousin over, cedric, if i'm spelling his name rite...

word was done by Ben Raja, and worship was done by Benedix.. well, Ray was sick, so he didn't go for youth tat nite.. so pray for him yah? chuilin sprained her finger or some sort, and she explain tat the door slammed it on her...... whether its the other way round, we still don't noe, but i'm sure its the other way round tat she slammed the door on herself... hehehe, anyhow, just pray for her too!!!

oh yeah, sch's starting as well!!! haha, we gotta get back into the study mood again.. the usual early waking in morning, and working our brain again... oh well, tats all for now..

hey, hows it going everyone?? whoa... superman was pretty alrite as a movie... but the best thing happened was that the whole church congregated together to watch the movie... tats the coolest thing of all...

well i dun think i should spoil the movie for those who didn't watch.. but well.. all i could give the movie out of 5 is just 3.... not best of bests, but still not too bad.. well, all i could remember during the 3.5 hr duration of the movie, was popcorns, and hell of a butt aching!!! hehe..

well, the best superman there ever is, is the big guy up in heaven.. so strong and mighty that he doesn't even needa do much to moves the seas and mountain..

hey rossy ppl!! ivan here!! i'm here to share wif u some stuffs happening in sch.. do u noe that there's prayer meeting every tuesday before sch?? its fun.. its starts at 7.30 and ends at bout 8.50.. we would gather as christians and have a mini worship and word everyweek.. now, we are even organising THE BIG BREAKFAST!! we're making pancakes in sch every tuesday before sch for everyone!! we're trying to spread the blessings god had invested upon us to others.. even the non-christians!!! things had been great... u should come to this prayer meeting.. there are many brothers and sisters in christ frm other churches attending it, so u should too!!

another big event coming up is the exo event organised by us.. its a like a christian reach out program to the whole sch!! its gonna be so awesome!! imagine a sch filled wif christians, wat a wonderful place it would be!! exams wouldn't so hard then, cuz god would be helping us lots!! the exo event would consist of games, band, food and hopefully filled wif salvations... well, we need help frm u guys, so i hope u all can help us in the preparation for tis event!!

well, the prayer meeting is realli awesome... i hope u all could come!! even youth leaders of other churches are coming to help out!! i dun think we should lose out to them!!! for now, i'm the onli zion youth in the prayer meeting, i think its time for us to own the prayer meeting!! dominate them now!! haha, jkjk.. its open to all year levels in rossy!!

hey, hows it going everyone??? its world cup fever!!! hehe, pray for aussie to beat brazil tis sunday!!! i'm sorry abt this long update of the blog.. didn't really have time... i hope it doesn't stop u frm checking it regularly.. its nice to see ppl commenting abt the blog.. it shows that ppl are checking out the blog... haha.. anyway, i'm sorry i still can't find a gd blogskin for us.. if u find one, pls inform me.. or just change it urself!!

well, its me again sharing about the word on the last youth meeting.. well, its was about quiet time.. which is one of the most essential steps to know more about our god, the awesome king in heaven.. well, last friday, Ray shared wif us the word, which was gd!! He also blindfolded michael and tzen had to guide him through obstacles, without touching him at all.. the rest of us got to be the obstacles and made lots of noise to distract michael frm tzen.. hehe, it was fun, but besides the fun, there was a strong and meaningful message in it...

We, as the obstacles, were representing the obstacles and hardships that we get into in life.. while michael being blindfolded was actually refering to as us being blinded by sin.. lucky tzen then got to act as god who guides michael through life.. this simple demonstration truly does show how god tries hard to show us the way to become a better person and get away frm sin.. but the greatest factor of all is us. Who chooses whether or not, to obey god's teachings.. God always does speak to us through our hearts, be it during our greatest or lowest times in life.. but we would find it hard to listen to him through all the distractions and troubles in life..

therefore the solution to solving our problems: Quiet Time!!
well, if we refer back to the blindfolded michael and tzen being god demonstration, it makes much sense how this is true.. if michael had stopped and listen to tzen's direction before moving off recklessly, he could have gone through the obstacles cleanly without bumping into anyone.. it could be related to us in our life, like before making a huge decision as like whether to rob a bank. The consequences could be hugely grave.. like if we do not go through quiet time, and sort our thoughts our in a "sterile" mental state, we could have heeded the satan's influence and got into trouble.. But!! if we had gone through quiet time, we could have seen the light and see the consequences all before it actually happening.. Conclusively, if we go through quiet time, we will not do stuffs rashly and stupidly wifout giving a second thought, such as robbing a bank..

God is the the man who tells us to do the right thing, so listen to him!!
He leads by faith and not by sight!!

The greatest test of knowing god is not the theory, but instead, it is the practical.. putting god's word into gd use!! If knowing the bible is the most important thing of all, god could have made a cartoon out of it, and made us watch it everydae.. BUT HE DIDN'T!! So following nike's famous phrase, we gotta "just do it!" God is also not rigid, he did not made us read the bible everydae at a specific time.. he allowed us to read the bible whenever we had time to.. he's wants quality time instead of quantity.. therefore he wants to have quality time wif us, even for a short while instead of having us talking to him while being distracted wif so many things in life..

A meaningful quote by Ray during the word was "THE DEVIL MAY KILL, DESTROY AND STEAL, BUT GOD GIVES US LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY".. I'm not sure of his exact words but this was something like it.. its meaningful to the max!! The devil would kill our family, destroy our house and steal our precious possessions but god in return give us life more abundantly.. more abundantly than we can ever contain, so much that we have to share it away to our friends.. Do not be such a pessimist and always look on the dark side of life, as for every dark side of things, there is always a better side.. just look beyond the dark side..

Our father in heaven is much like our father on earth.. he wants u to communicate wif him all the times, in gd times even in bad.. he afterall is the one who makes the trouble in life.. therefore he's gotta have the solution to them!! heed him for guidance!!

there is a formula to have a better life.. It is to truly accept God's true honour and glory into ur life!! To accept Christ into ur life, for he will lift ur sins away, and give u a new sinless start.. if u have yet to accept and would want to, feel free to meet up wif one of the helpers or even ur friends in youth.. for we will pray for u!! God is not someone to be ashamed of, but rather to honoured and glorified of!! he's the truth, the way and the light.. he's the salvation and redeemer for us!! he's the awesome one!!

He's not ashamed of u in heaven in front of his father, y should u be ashamed of him then!

Okay, so i'll get to da point.
This story was sent to me through my email and it really touched me.
As i am very impatient this story tested...and is STILL testing my patience and i hope it tests yours too.

Attitude
Jerry is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"
He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry
and asked him, I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"
Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life. "
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."
I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in the restaurant business...he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gun point by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.
I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was,
he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"
I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.
"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door,"
Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or I could choose to die. I chose to live."
"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Jerry continued, "...the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man.' I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'BULLETS!' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead'."
Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Oh yeah...by the way am Stacey. As Ivan said...if u guyz are interested in meeting up on fridays for youth group...contact the oldies lolz...They r quite wise *cough*
No seriously, fridays r really fun with all the games n stuff we do!!

hey, ivan here checking in again... fridae was a great time!! games was gd,worship was gd, word was gd, refreshments was gd too!! haha, though some of us didn't come.. but well, we still had fun.. well, pray for those who are struggling in their exam periods!! well, in case u didn't come, word was about serving in ministry, all for the sake of god.. its all in john13:1, so if u're interested, read up!!

well, for god who invested in us, we should invest in the others as well.. not onli to christians, but also to ppl of other religions.. for they would hopefully be blessed by our god through us.. we can invest in others through small stuffs such as helping ppl wif schoolwork or even talking to them.. Ben Raja told us tat, when he was once a teacher, he met a child who was suffering a bad case of a hunchback and he couldn't even carry his bag due to his back condition.. well, there was another boy who was abt 7-8 yr old, and would always be there at the school gate waiting for his friend, the hunchedback boy, and he would then carry his bag for his hunchedback friend.. these were all due the boy's initiative.. a boy of such a small age, who barely could do simple math and calculations, had such a great heart of gold.. well, this strucked me hard and well.. i felt bad as for someone so small had even a better heart than mine, and started thinking abt it.. its time for me to change and i hope u do too!! well, we can start changing by serving god.. serving god in ministries and such.. if u are a non-christian, u should come and join us at our youth.. for u can once see how awesome and magnificient our god is..

if u are interested abt serving god in ministry or such, u can talk our youth leaders... ben raja, ray, chui lin, chin seng, benedicts and jayne..
well, u can call and meet them up and have a consultation wif these wise ones..

Huhu's sick :(

Hey guys.

It's been a while since the last post. Last week we had a real fun time in cell. Ivan playing the guitar for the first time for worship. Did a really good job. Ray's sharing on grace. Hopefully we will apply that to our everyday lives. We also did that collage (I'm not sure if thats how you spell it) thing which almost turn in a disaster due to Ben's creative juices hahaha. In the end we did a pretty good job on it I reckon.

Me and Ben went to attend Sam's orchestra performance last Saturday. That was my first time going to an orchestra. What did I think about it. Pretty cool if you ask me. Here are some pictures of the night.

Sunday afternoon we went for X-Men 3 the movie. I reckon it was a real cool movie. What say you guys? Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did.

Some of you might not know but I've got the flu over the weekend. It's so bad to the point that the doctor ask me to stay at home for a week just to rest. Guess thats a blessing in disguise eh haha. Point is theres a flu bug going around. So everyone please take care of yourself, the change of weather is not doing anyone any good either. Drink loads of water and get enough rest yeah.

hey, everyone!!! ivan here again... well, youth was great on fridae... pretty well done!!! i had a great time of my life, and i hope u did too!!! well, games was fun, worship was gd, word was great, designing of the canvas thingy was a screw up at first, but our god in heaven helped us with it, and now its pretty alrite... well, the next youth would be even better!!! so come next week... bring ur friends along... it would be fun... well, exams stuffs are coming up for me, haha, as well as other youths, such stephanie, stacey and other yr 11s... so pray for us pls!!! haha...

well, anyway, i hope u all would have a great week, in sch and at work!!!
